Bridget is devoted to developing a treatment plan to specifically address your individual requirements using the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture. A full traditional diagnosis and first treatment may require up to two hours. Follow up treatments may require 30min – 1hour depending on the condition being treated.
On your first visit a thorough health history is noted. If indicated there may be some palpation (touch), massage (tui na), or checks on mobilitiy and range of movement for example. The acupuncture treatment then involves careful selection and insertion of very fine needles into specific areas of the body and should not be painful. Usually people feel relaxed, a little tired or sometimes quite revitalised following a treatment. If required, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha or tuina may also be used.
Part of your treatment may include advice on the types of foods, exercise and work that might be best suited for your type. Bridget is also a fully qualified yoga teacher so aspects of this practice may be included if indicated for example pranayama (breathing) asana (postures) or meditation (relaxed awareness) exercises.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of your health situation further and assess if acupuncture or indeed a wellness package might produce the results you need please contact Bridget for a free confidential assessment and consultation.
